Adhesive Base Thermal Pad is an interface material that combines thermal conductivity and bonding functions. It is mainly composed of thermal conductive fillers, silicone base and pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and is in the form of a soft sheet. It is designed to fill the tiny gap between electronic components and heat sinks, reduce thermal resistance and improve thermal conduction efficiency. At the same time, the adhesive layer provides self-adhesion, which simplifies the assembly process. The thermal conductive fillers of this material usually include aluminum oxide, aluminum nitride, silicon nitride, etc. to improve thermal conductivity; the base material is mostly silicone, which provides good flexibility and adaptability; the adhesive layer uses pressure-sensitive adhesive, which has good adhesion and temperature resistance. In liquid form, the thermal pad can self-level during the assembly process, fill irregular or complex gaps, and form an elastomer after curing to maintain long-term stable thermal conductivity. Adhesive thermal pads are widely used in electronic equipment that requires efficient heat dissipation, such as LED lighting, computer motherboards, power modules, etc.

The hardness of the thermal pad ranges from 30 - 70±5 Shore C, and the specific gravity is 3.5±0.2. These physical property parameters are important manifestations of its stable performance. The moderate hardness allows the thermal pad to provide sufficient support during the assembly process to ensure close fit with electronic components and heat dissipation devices, while not causing damage to the surface of the components due to excessive hardness. For example, in the assembly of precision electronic equipment, a thermal pad that is too hard may scratch the protective coating on the surface of the component, affecting the performance of the component; while a thermal pad that is too soft may not be able to effectively fill the gap, resulting in reduced thermal conduction efficiency.
